This platform has been a long time in the making. We created Earth Explorer Pro because we know first-hand how confusing, intimidating, and unnecessarily expensive travel has become. For many people, the idea of travelling now comes wrapped in fear fear of getting it wrong, fear of hidden costs, fear of not knowing where to start. At the same time, disposable income is shrinking for most of us, yet the desire to explore the world hasn’t disappeared. If anything, it’s stronger than ever.
Travel companies know this. And many are capitalising on it.
We’ve watched the cost of organised tours climb higher and higher, often justified by convenience or “peace of mind.” And while we fully respect that businesses need to make a profit, we also know the reality because we’ve been there, done it, and run the numbers ourselves. The mark-ups are often extreme, and in many cases, simply unfair.
Take our trip to Borneo as an example.
To many people, Borneo sounded daunting. Remote. Complicated. Risky. A well-known travel company (we’ll leave names out of it) was offering a 10-day itinerary that looked strikingly similar to what we wanted at a cost of £2,000 per person. That’s £4,000 for the two of us.
Instead, we chose a different path.
By planning the journey ourselves, researching transport, accommodation, food, and local experiences, we spent around £50 a day on average, more than enough for both of us to travel comfortably. The entire trip came in at roughly £500.
But the biggest difference wasn’t the money we saved.
It was the freedom we gained.
Freedom to slow down when a place captured our hearts.
Freedom to stay longer instead of rushing on because an itinerary said so.
Freedom to change plans, follow curiosity, and travel on our terms, not someone else’s schedule.

We chose the Thames Path for a reason. This iconic river is far more than a ribbon of water cutting through the landscape; it is a living timeline. For centuries, the Thames has carried people, ideas, trade, and stories, quietly shaping the course of England itself as it winds through multiple counties on its journey to the sea.
Our adventure begins at the Thames’ surprisingly quiet source in the rolling countryside of Gloucestershire. From there, we follow the river’s meandering path mile by mile, watching it grow in strength and character as it flows through historic market towns, world-famous cities, and overlooked stretches of remarkable beauty.
